Being a kid has to be the most difficult period in the life process. Couple that with the unique context of the inner city, and the possibility for making it through successfully seems nonexistent, where factors such as poverty, teenage pregnancy, drugs and gangs are more prevalent than they are in other settings.
At Rosedale Church we not only believe that it is possible for students to make it through adolescence successfully, but we also believe that God has a purpose and a definitive plan for each student.
We believe that as we allow God to love each student through us, they will begin to see God's purpose for their lives and in turn desire to know God and develop a growing relationship with Him.
This is done in a variety of ways.
First and foremost, relationally. We believe that as we invest in the lives of each student, whether it is through making a phone call or taking a handful of students to McDonald's, a loving and trusting relationship will begin to develop where we are able to provide the student with wisdom and knowledge in the Person of Jesus.
Group It is our goal to provide a safe group environment where students can interact with one another and enjoy activities without fear and apart from the street, interact with adult leaders and hear about God.
Group times:
-Wednesday and Thursday evenings @ 7:00 provided by Kensington Community Center 29th and State KCK
Leadership This is where students are able to develop a growing relationship with the Person of Jesus through a small group setting and begin developing skills as leaders.
